It's a Matter of Trust

I just finished reading “Tale of a Female Nomad” for the third time. It’s a great book! It’s about a woman, Rita, who ends up going on magical adventures by herself. She doesn’t make any plans of where she will be traveling in advance, she goes where she is guided. People ask her all the time how she consistently meets up with such wonderful circumstances and people. Her reply: “It’s because I trust. I know there is risk, but it’s one I’m willing to take. My life is constantly enriched because I trust people.”
Wow. That is amazing. I needed to hear that. I was going through a difficult situation with a potential tenant. It had my stomach tied up in knots. I was very clear with what she needed to do before moving in. She didn’t comply with any of it. Rita’s statement of “it’s because I trust” released me from my worry. I let it go. I am trusting it will all work out. I can’t see the big picture, but God can.
I was relating this situation to a friend before I was able to let it go. I told her “I am a worrier”. She said don’t you claim that! You were trained to be a worrier. She’s right. So I am now training myself to trust. I still don’t know what’s going to happen with the situation, but the weight of the outcome is no longer on my shoulders, because I trust it will all work out for the best.
It’s important to note that by trusting people to be themselves, offers guidance. This potential tenant has already let me know that she is lax in completing important information in a timely manner. Do I want tenants like that? No! So maybe she will totally flake out and a reliable tenant will appear! I like that.
Amazingly, in the nick of time, the tenant complied with everything needed to move into the house. Letting go and trusting gave me peace of mind. I now see that it also opens up possibilities and invites a little magic into everyday living.
