A Recipe for Success
I’m 65. I thought I’d have everything figured out by now… nope! The recipe below has helped me to live a better life - not a perfect life, or easy life, but better. My definition of “better” grows as I expand my definition of success. Success, for me, includes deep connection with others, knowing my worth, laughter, being a force for good, speaking up for truth, sharing my gifts, having fun! All these ingredients create PEACE.
The current state of the world is alarming and overwhelming. It may feel like one person can’t make a difference. This is not true. We each matter, we each make a difference. By following the “recipe” below, your single influence will spread out to friends and family, then community, and eventually the world. These are simple stres that hold much power for good.
One full, open and sincere heart - if it’s broken, this will add extra tenderness to the taste
Two ears, willing to listen to the questions and guidance being whispered to you
A gallon, or as much as you can muster, Desire To Live Your Best Life
4-6 bushels of goals and aspirations stirred together to form a plan
A LARGE heaping of “holy sh–t! I’m going to do it!
Mix the above ingredients together and fold in with sweet and supportive friends. Set oven temperature to broil. Broil just long enough to sear off ego and pride. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Bake until firm - check for doneness by going over your plan of action.
Remove from oven, but never let your aspirations cool.

½ cup (30 minutes) of daily inspiration - books, audio by people
¾ - 1 cup (45-60 minutes) daily exercise
3 servings of nutritious meals and healthy snacks, with occasional decadence!
1 pound of life-time commitment to discovering your what - what do you want? What kind of person do you want to be? What kind of legacy do you want to leave? What do you want to be feeling on your death bed? These answers give you direction.
10 pounds of knowing your why. Why do you want the what? Does your why give you joy? Is it worth the price you will have to pay?
1 ounce of daily to courage to take the first step, despite the challenge.
